About us
The Brazilian Scenic Choir is a group that celebrates the diversity of Brazilian culture and music in Canada. Its objective is to spread Brazilian music through the production of shows that highlight important aspects of Brazilian culture little known outside Brazil. Its performances are warm and dynamic, including dances and percussion. Under the artistic direction of Taia Goedert and the musical direction of Auro Moura, the Brazilian Scenic Choir began its activities in August 2015. The group is part of the non-profit organization Brésil en Scène.

Força Estranha
Following its huge success in 2025, the Brazilian Scenic Choir returns with the show Força Estranha! Audiences packed the theater, laughing, crying, and being deeply moved, during last year’s three performances. The show returns to the stage featuring more songs, new scripts, and some exciting additions-including a performance entirely in Portuguese! All of this while keeping the essence and experience of the immigrant journey as the central theme. Set to the most beautiful songs by great Brazilian composers, around 70 artists explore the joys, sorrows, discoveries, and transformations of those who leave their home country to build a new life elsewhere. Through music, theater, and movement, Força Estranha celebrates saudade (longing), human connections, the strength of Brazilian culture, and the richness of our community.
